Using OBS the free software for video and audio recording you can set the "gain" and a "limiter" which turns up the ability to hear what is said into the mic and also puts a limit on how loud things can ultimately be said which is a good thing to set up whatever you are doing with any mic. ... I ran some tests to be sure I was getting a good audio recording and it works good both with the black cover and not but the closer the mic the louder obviously and if it is far away like arms length then you are not getting such a loud pick up of your voice but this gets into mic stuff I don't really know, so anyway nice product would recommend if you just want to put something in front of you. ...
